Lessons, not logos.

  1. 01

    Meadow

    Co-founder & CEO · 2014 — now

Point-of-sale and operations software for California cannabis retail. YC's first cannabis startup. Over $5B of cannabis sold.

Longevity in a chaotic industry is a product decision. Every quarter the rules change, the enforcement changes, and the software has to change with them, because change is the only constant. What doesn't change is the operator on the other side of the counter trying to run a good shop and get clean, safe cannabis into the hands that need it. Building for that operator, year after year, is the whole strategy. Still standing, long game.

    Reboot

    Host · Annual

An annual gathering in the redwoods of Camp Navarro where YC Founders and Alumni put down their phones and remember why they started.

Community is the Operating System. The founders who last are the ones who know each other well enough to ask honest questions in person. That doesn't happen on Slack. So once a year we log off, walk into the redwoods, and remember we're people first. We build to change the world. That starts with us.

    Bao Chicka Wow Wow

    Camp lead · 2015 — now

Ten years feeding Black Rock City. 43,000 bao served, cooked on our own solar and batteries, under shade that held in seventy-mile-an-hour winds.

Logistics is love. Every list you write in June is a hug you deliver in August. Every anchor point you double-check is somebody sleeping through a whiteout. Digging a deeper well so we can provide for more people. Carry your own water. Feed everyone anyway.

    Flavor chasing

    Amateur · A lifetime

Eating across cultures with the people I love, writing it down and snapping photos.

Curiosity compounds. The palate you build is the map you see the world through. A lifetime project with no deadline.
